A chat with Eddie McClintock, Joanne Kelly and Jack Kenny of Warehouse 13

by on Apr.14, 2014, under Television

The studio door to Warehouse 13The final (and short) season of Warehouse 13 starts tonight on Syfy at 9/8c…I was able to attend a press Q&A last week with stars Eddie McClintock (Pete)and Joanne Kelly (Myka) along with showrunner Jack Kenny, but before I get into that I thought I’d talk a bit about what the show has meant to me and my family.

With the recent departure of Being Human, the end of Warehouse 13 marks a bittersweet personal milestone…two shows that I’ve not only followed from the start, but also have had met with and interacted with the casts on both professional and personal levels and visited the sets, and I’ve been invested in from beginning to end at so many levels. Prior to that, in all the years of this site, I’ve never really been able to travel to the major conventions or press events. Even when Syfy started their “Digital Press Tour”, I wasn’t able to attend the first several because they typically were out in Vancouver, and I’m stuck here on the wrong coast for being involved with Hollywood TV media. Even getting to NYC can be a pain. I was supposed to go to San Diego Comic-Con a few years ago, but had to scrap plans, and now I’m not sure I even want to with how crazy it has gotten.

Syfy sets Spring schedule: return of Warehouse 13, Continuum, new shows

by on Feb.14, 2014, under Television

Syfy unveiled their Spring lineup today, with the return of Continuum, the farewell of Warehouse 13, and several new shows and specials.

The final (and short) season of Warehouse 13 will start on Monday, April 14th, at 9/8c. Claudia’s (Allison Scagliotti) epic battle with Paracelsus (Anthony Head) will unleash an unexpected horror — and the Warehouse may never be the same. In the new season, the entire Warehouse team confronts old questions – and new revelations. From a painful realization that Pete (Eddie McClintock) and Myka (Joanne Kelly) must face, and Artie (Saul Rubinek) accompanying Claudia on a soul-searching journey about her sister, to Steve (Aaron Ashmore) colliding with his past, the final six episodes of Warehouse 13 takes viewers on an emotionally-charged roller coaster ride.

Continuum will return for it’s third season on Friday, April 4th, in the 10/9c time slot. At the end of Season 2, Alec Sadler made the Earth-shattering decision to hijack Kiera’s (Rachel Nichols) chance to get home, in order to save Emily, the girl he loves, from certain death. This act of desperation not only jettisoned Alec into the near past, but it condemned Kiera to incarceration by the Freelancers, who are ‘collecting’ time travelers in order to protect history. Now, Kiera must face the consequences of Alec’s betrayal and somehow escape the Freelancers. Even if she can, has Alec’s decision to time travel already changed the future in ways Kiera couldn’t even imagine? What will Kiera sacrifice to ultimately survive – and how will Liber8 factor into this challenge?

Our holiday gift list…

by on Dec.17, 2013, under Fun Stuff

I know it is late in the shopping season – I’ve been uber-busy this year, but you might still have time…here are a few of the things we like out there…most of which we’ve purchased!

With three science-fiction-loving girls in my house, there was never much in the way of appropriate clothing you could get for them for gifts…until about four years ago. Today, their wardrobes and my wallet seem to be aimed at Her Universe, founded by an actual Jedi – the voice of Ahsoka Tano, Ashley Eckstein. Covering not just Star Wars, but Doctor Who, The Walking Dead, Star Trek, and Syfy programs, clothing and other merchandise specially made for women with awesome designs abound. And you can also get items at ThinkGeek and Hot Topic (in the stores as well!) Still no merchandise for men…yet.

For the men at least, if you are a fan of Warehouse 13, did you know that star Eddie McClintock, who plays Agent Pete Lattimer, is an artist? For the last few seasons he’s designed and sold T-shirts for the show, and the final season T-shirt is not only available for sale, but you can GET IT SIGNED BY HIM for free! It may be too late for Christmas, but who doesn’t like an extra gift after the holidays? And while you are at it, check out his original artwork for sale.

Speaking of ThinkGeek – I’m not a coffee drinker, but I do like a hot cup of tea, and I can be a bit of a tea snob. More recently I’ve delved into the realm of loose leaf teas, but they can be difficult to use – I’ve got two of those round mesh tea infusers (including a Mickey head one I picked up at WDW), but if you’re dealing with fine cut tea, they never really seem to close properly and you get pieces of tea in your drink. But then I found this TARDIS tea infuser, which looks perfect. I haven’t tried it yet because it’s a Christmas gift to myself, but the design looks to be just what I want – fill from the top, fine holes on the bottom…problem solved.

It’s a wrap – Warehouse 13 finishes filming final season

by on Aug.31, 2013, under Television

It’s such a bittersweet day.

Filming of the final six episodes of Warehouse 13 concluded in the early hours this morning in Toronto, in what I’m sure was a tired and emotional end.

Thanks to Eddie McClintock’s tweets, here are some pics from the final days. I don’t know what the episode is about yet, but it sure is going to be interesting…
