Eureka‘s Neil Grayston, Alphas‘ Erin Way and others in special celebrity edition of Total Blackout
by Doc on Jun.11, 2013, under Television
It’s finally happening…celebrities will be facing the fears of Total Blackout! If you had a sharp eye in the new season’s previews, you may have caught Eureka‘s Neil Grayston (Fargo) – and I knew that an episode had been filmed quite a while ago, but I never got any info as to who was in it…back in 2011, when the the press were given a preview of the show, Eureka‘s Colin Ferguson bravely faced the dark with good results, and I asked then when we might see a celebrity version, but they wanted to get the show up and running first…but now the time has come.
On the July 9th episode, “Celebrity Blackout,” international music superstar Aubrey O’Day (Making the Band, Celebrity Apprentice) joins television host Bob Guiney (Showhouse Showdown, The Bachelor), and actors Erin Way (Alphas, Detroit 1-8-7) and Neil Grayston (Eureka, Wonderfalls) as they go head-to-head in pitch blackness playing Total Blackout for a cause! In a first for the series, all four contestants will participate in each of the show’s three challenges with an opportunity to win up to $15,000 for their individual charities. Charities represented include Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (Guiney), Responsibility (O’Day), Lungevity (Way), and Doctors without Borders (Grayston).
Total Blackout is a half-hour, extreme game show hosted by Jaleel White (Family Matters, Dancing with the Stars) in which contestants battle each other and their fears in a series of challenges played in complete darkness. There are no lights, no blindfolds and no-holds-barred as the players face their anxieties and unexpected surprises in a series of nerve-wracking games.
Now, if we can get a few more of these…who’s up for a special Warehouse 13 edition?

The second season of Falling Skies picks up three months after Tom Mason boarded the alien ship in the final scene of Season One. The 2nd Mass has fought in the devastating Battle of Fitchburg, with both sides suffering losses. Tom has been help captive by the Overlord, where Tom learns that the aliens don’t wish to talk or have peace with the humans. He is let go with several other captives, but all the other captives are killed – he however is mysteriously let go, and travels back to meet up with the 2nd Mass. In the meantime, everyone’s favorite renegade Pope is given command of a group of misfits called the Berserkers, an undisciplined group who take on some of the more dangerous missions, tolerated as a necessity by Colonel Weaver but certainly not trusted. Star Wars Episode VII to film location scenes in Ireland?
by Doc on Jun.05, 2013, under Movies
Could Episode VII of Star Wars be filmed in Ireland? It looks that way.
It appears that J.J. Abrams Bad Robot has been talking with the Irish Film Board about shooting some scenes in North Clare, Ireland, as well as Donegal and Sligo, after Abrams and his wife Katie McGrath (not the Merlin actress, but like her is Irish) vacationed in the area in 2011.
In addition, a biopic about Irish king Brian Boru would also likely film in the same area, notable at the Cliffs of Moher, which may seem familiar – they are the cliffs where scenes from The Princess Bride and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows were filmed.
Lost Girl begins production on Season 4 – George Takei and Ali Liebert to guest star
by Doc on Jun.04, 2013, under Television

George Takei (Star Trek) and Ali Liebert (Bomb Girls) will be among the guest stars appearing in Season 4.
In the upcoming season, fate casts a wide shadow over the Fae world. With Bo’s (Anna Silk; Being Erica) return, the lines between Dark and Light Fae are blurred, causing Bo to venture into a journey of discovery. Bo and company will ultimately realize that regardless of the challenges and enemies they face, they’re stronger when they face them together.
Returning with Silk as the Succubus heroine Bo are Ksenia Solo (Life Unexpected, Black Swan) as Kenzi, Bo’s human sidekick and street-smart confidante; Kris Holden-Ried (The Tudors, Underworld 4) as Dyson, the shape shifting homicide detective and noble warrior of the Light Fae; Zoie Palmer (Sex After Kids, The Guard) as Lauren, the brilliant human doctor who competes with Dyson for Bo’s affection; Rick Howland (Billable Hours, Murdoch Mysteries) as Trick, Bo’s grandfather and the ancient and mysterious Blood King, and K.C. Collins (Owning Mahowny, Doomstown) as Hale, Dyson’s partner and a Light Fae siren born of noble blood.
Paul Amos (Sex After Kids, Murdoch Mysteries) returns as the ever devious Dark Fae Mesmer, Vex, and Emmanuelle Vaugier (The Mentalist, Two And A Half Men) reprises her role as the evil Dark Fae leader, The Morrigan.
Lost Girl was developed by Prodigy Pictures, in association with Shaw Media and Showcase. Executive producers are Jay Firestone and Emily Andras. Vanessa Piazza and Wendy Grean are producers.
Lost Girl is produced with the participation of the Canadian Media Fund created by the Government of Canada and the Canadian cable industry, and with the assistance of the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit and the Ontario Film and Television Tax Credit Program.
