Harry Potter, Star Wars book burning?
by Doc on Jan.03, 2002, under General News
I’ve heard this from several places that it supposedly was in USA Today: Apparently members of the Christ Community Church in Alamogordo, New Mexico held a bonfire – fueled by Harry Poter books and various Star Wars, Tolkien, and even Shakespeare items. The words “Satanic deception” and the teach “children how they can get into witchcraft”. Funny, no matter how much I say “up” to my broom, it doesn’t move.

This was submitted as a story instead of a reply:
Book Lover writes “I didn’t see it in USA Today, but a couple other places:

Harry Potter is, of course, the headliner for any articles. But also included were copies of Maxim magazine, Pokemon cards, Ouija boards, AC/DC albums, and the works of Shakespeare!?!
Sorry. Pet peeve of mine.
