New feature – events calendar
by Doc on Apr.12, 2010, under Sci-Fi Storm
I’ve finally got a working calendar on the site – something I wanted to have for a long time. On the right, you will see a list of upcoming events: movie releases, TV premieres, etc. At the top, you’ll see a new page called “events” that will give you a full calendar view. I will update the calendar as items come in, but it is difficult to go back and populate for items I’m not currently reporting on. So if there is a date/time you think appropriate, please go ahead and email them to the (temporary) address of events AT scifistorm.org for inclusion. If there is an appropriate link, include that as well. You may not get a response, but if its appropriate it will appear in the calendar.
Did someone tamper with Clash Of The Titans?
by Doc on Apr.09, 2010, under Movies
Devin Faraci at CHUD has an interesting analysis (warning: spoilers) of Clash Of The Titans – and how it is a very different film than was original cut…and that this original cut may still be around. The released version made significant changes to the plot, and rid itself of a lot of the Olympian intrigue and infighting between the gods – almost removing some of them entirely. Will we get to see the original version? If they see enough money in a DVD release, I’m sure we will…

More Doctor Who preview videos
by Doc on Apr.05, 2010, under Television
As the anticipation reaches a fever pitch for the BBC America premiere of the new Doctor at April 17th, I’ve got a couple new videos for you to see. The first as Steven Moffat talking about the sonic screwdriver of all things, and the second is Matt Smith talks regeneration…and if you’ve been apprehensive of the new Doctor and producer, my spy network across the pond, who saw the first episode this past Saturday, indicates that there are no worries – everyone is impressed. Also, Techland has an interview with Matt Smith.

Tom Baker Reads His First Doctor Who Adventure
by TheThunderChild on Apr.05, 2010, under Audio
The fourth Doctor, Tom Baker, appeared in his first four-part serial, Robot, to inaugurate his new regeneration. For this first season, UNIT played a prominent role, and the Doctor had two companions, Ian Marter’s Harry Sullivan and Elisabeth Sladen’s Sarah Jane Smith. It was novelized by Terrance Dicks as The Giant Robot, and it is this book that Tom Baker reads, for BBC Radio 7, in 5 parts.

Me want – Dharma alarm clock
by Doc on Apr.02, 2010, under Fun Stuff
I refrained from posting yesterday as it was too late in the day to come up with anything witty, and anything else wouldn’t be taken seriously. But the guys at ThinkGeek again came through. This time it was with the Dhama Initiative Alarm Clock. Now, they eventually came through with the Tauntaun Sleeping Bag, so just maybe…
