by on Mar.08, 2010, under Comics

DC Comics has announced that J. Michael Straczynski will take over as writer for both Superman (s\with issue #701) and Wonder Woman (issue #601). JMS says that “For as long as I’ve been doing conventions (starting in the early Cretaceous period […]) there has always been the same question from folks in the audience: “Is there any one character who is your dream character to write for?” The answer has always been the same: Superman.”

by on Mar.02, 2010, under Video/DVD

Fans of Jeremiah have been waiting patiently, hoping for Season 2 to finally be released on DVD – considering [sfs=372]Season 1[/sfs] was released 6 years ago. But now you can [sfs=1005]finally get it tomorrow[/sfs], but only from Amazon.com (through our links of course). However, it isn’t your standard DVD set, but rather Amazon is publishing these on-demand on DVD-Rs…perhaps the future model for lower-demand titles? It will be interesting to see the quality of the release in this model.

JMS on Forbidden Planet: more backstory, room for more

by on Nov.23, 2009, under Movies

JMS recently gave a group interview regarding the upcoming Warner Bros. remake of Forbidden Planet, giving some hints of what is to come. Among those things mentioned – more backstory about how we get to the point of the original movie (such as the landing of the Bellerophon), and perhaps leaving some space for the possibility of some form of sequel – possibly as a franchise. And if you’re worried about it being transformed from a cerebral (both in plot and story) film to an action flick, “There’s a little more action, but it’s still a strong character piece…You need to have that dynamic still in place to respect the original and the source material. So there’s a fair amount of talking, but there’s some really cool action pieces in it as well,” according to JMS.
