Shatner speaks out about Abrams on YouTube
by Doc on Sep.19, 2008, under General News
Shatner took to a new frontier to dispute a statement by J.J. Abrams regarding a part for James T. Kirk in the upcoming Star Trek movie. Although some reports term it a “blasting”, I think Shatner was in fact very cordial about it and complimented Abrams several times. Read More to see the video.

Cordial enough…
Given reports of Shatner’s temper (and ego – a friend of mine met him while working on a Shatner-related videogame), this was pretty gracious. I don’t know who’s right, whether Abrams et al approached him, or just approached his agent, or what. But honestly – Shatner doesn’t need a cameo. They’re trying to move forward and reinvent Star Trek – this was the right choice, to not include him.

Hah, they aren’t trying to reinvent it when the reuse all the character with new crummy actors.
And JJ Loser wouldn’t be able to reinvent his way out of a paper back.
No Shat, No show!
