Craven’s Cursed reworked; Rick Baker retires

Wes Craven’s Cursed, which halted production in June, is now being rescripted at the behest of Dimension Films, which will probably result in recasting as well. And, in a further twist, Craven announced that Oscar-winning makeup wizard Rick Baker has closed up his shop and retired, leaving the makeup work for Cursed to KNB.
Clone Wars cartoon to air on Toonami in Britain

For all our British readers, all, um…well, probably none of you: Variety has reported that new network Toonami will air Star Wars: Clone Wars, the Lucasfilm and Cartoon Network produced series of animated shorts, starting November 10th. The show airs on the Cartoon Network in the states starting November 7th.
Heinlein’s last novel is now his first

hossman writes “Heinlein’s long lost first novel “For Us, the Living,” has been recovered, and will soon be in print. This novel apparently pre-dates his first short story, and was rejected by publishers due to it’s racy content. The book will be released in the US sometime durring January 2004 for $25 dollars — it is allready available for pre-order from several stores.” Amazon.com is taking pre-orders.
Firefly set to become movie under Universal

Universal has acquired the rights to Firefly from Fox and is set to a feature film. Production is set to start in the first quarter of 2004, and will be creator Joss Whedon’s directorial debut.
