Upcoming video releases: Doctor Who, Warehouse 13, Eureka, Sanctuary, more

We made a long-awaited update to the Sci-Fi TV Store today…quite a few upcoming releases in July.
On July 10th, [sfs=1231]Season 3[/sfs] of Warehouse 13 is released on DVD only. Also on that day, the next two classic Doctor Who releases come out: [sfs=1218]”The Krotons”[/sfs] featuring Patrick Troughton, and [sfs=1217]”Death to the Daleks”[/sfs], featuring Jon Pertwee.
On July 17th, Syfy’s [sfs=1221]Eureka: Season 5 (DVD only)[/sfs] and [sfs=1226]Sanctuary: Season 4 Blu-ray[/sfs] and [sfs=1227]DVD[/sfs] (both their final seasons) will be released.
On July 24th, the first full season of Star Trek: The Next Generation is [sfs=1228]released on Blu-ray[/sfs].
And then on August 14th, two more classic Doctor Who episodes are released: The [sfs=1220]special edition of “Spearhead From Space”[/sfs] featuring the debut of Jon Pertwee, and [sfs=1219]”The Greatest Show in the Galaxy”[/sfs] featuring Sylvester McCoy.

I remember as Star Wars turns 35

This weekend marks the 35th anniversary of the original release of Star Wars, later known as Star Wars Episode VI: A New Hope.
I remember when it came out, when I was 8 years old. I also remember not seeing it for a while afterwards. My parent’s work scheduled often didn’t allow going to the movies too frequently, along with taking care of my then two-year-old sister. And for weeks, lines would wrap around our little two-theater cinema behind the shopping center, which only gave one theater to the movie despite the lines. I remember friends having the first one or two series of trading cards before I actually got to see the movie. This was tough on an 8 year old SF fanatic who could tell you the plots of every episode of Star Trek within 20 seconds of the teaser act, loved Space: 1999 and would sit down with his dad to watch any SF we could find.
