Rodriguez to choose between Jetsons or Land of the Lost

Hmm…a live action The Jetsons movie, or a remake of Land of the Lost? That’s the choice Robert Rodriguez faces. Rodriguez has spoken with Warner Bros. about directing The Jetsons, but has also spoken to Universal about Land of the Lost, which has Will Ferrell attached, but we haven’t heard anything on that in two years, and is apparently not as far along with the script.
Lost to end – in 2010

The producers of Lost have an agreement with ABC which allows them to end the series in 3 years, during the 2009-2010 television season. Of note is that each of the remaining three seasons will consist of only 16 episodes instead of the typical 22 – but they were be aired uninterrupted. The interruptions this season were criticized as confusing viewers, who were having trouble keeping track of the plot.
Remastered Trek: “Tomorrow is Yesterday”

This weekend the “remastered” Star Trek episodes continue with “Tommorow is Yesterday”: “The remastered version of “Tomorrow is Yesterday,” Star Trek’s first real time-travel episode, premieres in nationwide syndication during the weekend of May 5, 2007. The episode, written by D.C. Fontana, features Captain Kirk (William Shatner) and the crew of the Starship Enterprise accidentally thrown back to Earth in the 1960s, where the ship is spotted as a UFO.”. Doctor Who delayed next week

For my British readers (I do have readers, right?) and whomever might be catching that latest Who episodes via other means: I came across this article at the BBC’s Doctor Who site which indicates that Doctor Who won’t be shown next weekend (May 12th) on BBC One as usual, due to the Eurovision Song Contest. Instead, it will simple be delayed to next weekend.
Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed on History Channel May 28th

Schirra, fifth of the Mercury 7, dies

Wally Schirra, a member of the original Mercury 7 astronauts and the fifth of them to reach space, passed away today at the age of 84. Schirra also flew on Gemini 6, and commanded Apollo 7, the first manned flight of the Apollo program.
NBC Rewind opens, runs contest

You’ll never need to miss an episode of Heroes, or any one of a bunch of NBC shows. NBC Rewind is now open, where you can watch complete episodes with limited commercial interruption. To celebrate, they are running a contest where you can win a script signed by the entire cast of Heroes or one of nine other shows.

Andromeda Strain moves forward, changes networks

The names are the same, except for the channel. We first reported over two years ago that The Andromeda Strain was being prepped as a mini-series for the SCI FI Channel with Ridley and Tony Scott, David W. Zucker and Tom Thayer all involved, using a script from Robert Schenkkan. Well, it will go into production this summer with director Mikael Solomon (Salem’s Lot), and a move to the A&E Network, and possibly an increase to 6 hours. A most interesting move…
